Double Bloodroot: Inside the Flower

  Double Bloodroot: Inside the Flower

This wildflower, Double Bloodroot, Sanguinara canadensis forma multiplex, a member of the poppy family, occurs widely across northeastern North America. This double form, a much rarer variety, is in Jenkins Arboretum, Devon Pennsylvania. The flower is only a couple of inches across and when in bloom only about four or five inches tall. For this shot with a macro lens I wanted to get the feel of being inside the flower.
